Clare I. M. Adams, PhD

Dr. Clare I. M. Adams completed her PhD at the University of Otago in 2021 developing environmental DNA technologies for population genetics, specifically using species of management interest such as the New Zealand fur seal and blackfoot pāua. Her research interest lies in using environmental DNA technologies for answering ecological questions. Currently, she is exploring the science-policy interface for Antarctica through a fellowship with the Antarctic Science Platform and the Ministry for Primary Industries, helping with supporting the Ross Sea region Marine Protected Area, managed by CCAMLR. Additionally, she has an interest in creating more welcoming, equitable spaces in science communities, given her lived experiences in North America, South America, and Oceania.

Clare is currently an elected board member to the Southern eDNA Society and part of the GFANZ community and would love it if you reached out for a chat!
